When your visitors come to the call box at our entrance gate to visit you, please make sure they do NOT PRESS THE ENTRY CODE BUTTON on the main screen. They should ALWAYS press the RESIDENT SEARCH BUTTON whether they want to use the four digit Directory Code for your home or they want to search for you by last name. The call box cannot call you from the gate unless your visitors press the RESIDENT SEARCH button first.
The most common mistake visitors make is pressing the Entry Code button first and that will never work. There is a page of instructions on the bulletin board just to the left of the call box. It has instructions for searching by name or by directory code and both tell you to press the RESIDENT SEARCH button first. The four digit code on the bulletin board and the code all residents have been issued is a Directory Code; NOT AN ENTRY CODE.
We cannot send all possible visitors these email instructions so it is up to you to make sure your visitors know the proper way to operate the call box. If they don’t follow these instructions, they will not get in and will just get frustrated.
Please help out your visitors before they get here by telling them to start by pressing the RESIDENT SEARCH button and not the ENTRY CODE button.
Our vendor assigned us a new phone number for calling you from the call box. Your Caller ID will show a new phone number for those calls to you. The number in your Caller ID will say either “5618771682”, “877-1682” or both. It may also say “Boynton Beach”. When you get this call, it is not Spam. It is from someone at the entrance gate trying to get you to open the gate for them. When you answer this call, remember to press “9” on your phone to open the gate for them.
Your visitors are probably used to calling you from the call box by using the Directory Code number on the bulletin board. They can still do that using the instructions above. There are a couple other ways to call you from the call box that may be easier and faster without using your four digit Directory Code.
1. Scroll the List of Residents on Right-Hand Side of the Screen – After your visitor presses the RESIDENT SEARCH button, they will see a list of the first seven residents in the Isles listed alphabetically. If the resident they are visiting isn’t in the currently displayed list, they can scroll through that list until they see your name. To scroll through the list, they can press the down arrow (\/) button at the bottom of the list to scroll one page at a time until they get to your name. They touch your name and the system will call your phone number. As usual, answer the call, verify that the visitor is allowed to enter and press “9” to open the gate.
2. Search by Name Instead of Using Four Digit Directory Code – When searching by the four digit directory code, your visitors always have to press the “?123” shift key to get the numbers displayed on the virtual keypad AND press all four digits of the code. When searching by name, they only have to press enough letters of your name until your name displays in the upper right side of the screen. In my case, when the visitor presses the letter “I” on the virtual keypad, my name (IKLER) displays because I am the only Isles resident whose last name starts with an “I”. They would press the name displayed (my last name) and the system dials my phone number; four fewer key presses. Your mileage may vary depending on the letters in your last name.
